Alternative Flag Ancient Talk
Alternative Flag—In many types of folk art you see different interpretations of some type of a flag. This one hangs vertically and is not meant to be a representation of an existing official flag, although it does have some elements of the American flag. This piece is made up of cotton fabrics, ethnic weavings, and old jeans. 23 x 31 inches. Ancient Talk—This image is a Mud Head Kachina and it is a symbolic representation of ancient figures in human form. He is depicted here because he actually seems to represent an actual living being that could talk to you in a past language. Appliquéd and quilted on cotton cloth. 23 x 26 inches.
Through the Ages Guadalupe
Through the Ages—The background of this work is a pieced pattern adjusted in size from the publication “French Braid Quilts.” The Native and Eagle are hand-painted on fabric and applied. The pottery pieces are dimensional. 60 x 60 inches. Guadalupe—A depiction of the Guadalupe Madonna as interpreted by me. Lots of added embellishments, including silk roses, ribbons, and beading. Gives off a very rich overall look, but still represents an image for all to enjoy. 31 x 42 inches.
