Gender Identity Out of Body
Gender Identity—The background of this piece is hand-stitched silk. The portion depicting the aliens is a loose overlay of printed fabric. Signage is on burnt-edge silk. Embellishment includes beads. 18 x 23 inches. Out of Body—The floating effect is depicted through the use of hand-dyed cheesecloth and a painted cab for the faces, which have been applied to the surface. The background also uses hand-dyed fabric and raw-edged appliqué. 12 x 12 inches.
Red and Black Stairway Up
Red & Black—This design reflects the feeling of Asian art in design and with the use of a red and black color scheme. Over-laid fabric is used to create a see-through and layered look. 11 x 29 inches. Stairway Up—This piece is a raw-edged appliqué from small scraps using some hand-painted fabric and quilted. It is an abstract arrangement depicting the design principles of line and movement. 11 x 14 inches, matted
